Door
Since the pandemic, I have more
appreciation for my door. This (mostly)
wooden panel that separates rooms
has a important role for me now. I rent
part of a house in Kasongan village,
Yogyakarta. The other part of the house
is rented by a small family with 3 kids,
who all need to stay inside the house
during the pandemic. This makes the
house much more crowded. Sometimes
the sound they make is unbearable. Since
then I really started to pay attention to the
locked door that separates my area and
the noisy neighbors area. I learned how
the door can reduce sound and now I have
more insight into how much a door prevents
unwanted sounds and how to make your
room more soundproof.
