Bread
In France we can only go outside for specific
purposes, for no longer than 1 hour, up to
1 kilometer from our homes. For this we need
a permission. And they check. Once I went
out, I just had to get out of the house for a
moment, so I went for a drive. I did have
permission, but not really a purpose. Then
I remembered I should get bread. So I got the
bread and at the next intersection I was
stopped and checked. The police officer asked
me what I had been doing, so I said: ‘I bought
bread’. She looked at me for a moment and
then asked me to show the bread. The bread
became my permission (and life-saver).
